About the Role Segal McCambridge, a nationally recognized litigation firm, is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our General Liability Defense Practice Group in Austin, Texas. The role offers a hybrid work schedule and opportunities for substantial litigation responsibility, hands-on case management, and mentorship from experienced trial lawyers.
What You'll Do
- Manage a litigation caseload with partner guidance and mentorship
- Draft and argue motions, conduct depositions, and manage written discovery
- Appear in court and actively participate in trials and trial preparation
- Defend clients in trucking, premises liability, product liability, toxic tort/asbestos, and other general liability matters
- Work directly with sophisticated clients on complex, high-exposure litigation
- Be part of a supportive, team-oriented environment where initiative is encouraged and professional growth is prioritized
What We're Looking For
- Active license to practice law in Texas
- At least 3 years of experience defending civil litigation matters
- Strong skills in legal research, writing, motion practice, and discovery
- Experience taking and defending depositions and managing key litigation responsibilities
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and desire to grow within the firm
Nice to Have
- Experience handling trucking/transportation, premises liability, product liability, toxic tort/asbestos, or general liability defense matters (preferred)
