Associate Architect, Integrations

About the Role Abbott is seeking an Associate Architect, Integrations to design, develop, and maintain integrations between Workday HCM and internal/external systems within the CHR Corporate Human Resources division. The role focuses on implementing and supporting the Workday HCM ecosystem, ensuring the stability and scalability of the HR technology landscape, collaborating with functional and technical teams.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and support integrations and reports between Workday and third-party applications.
• Build integrations using Workday technologies including Core Connectors, Packaged Connectors, Workday Studio, and EIBs.
• Collaborate with project teams (Functional Consultants, Project Managers, offshore resources) to deliver integration components for HR initiatives.
• Support the full integration lifecycle—requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
• Partner with Integrations Manager on system analysis, optimization efforts, and architectural improvements.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including integration specifications, data flow diagrams, and operational procedures.
• Provide on-call support and ensure timely resolution of integration incidents.
• Maintain SLAs for operational tickets and ensure adherence to established support guidelines.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
• 7-8 years of hands-on experience developing and supporting Workday integrations.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Solid understanding of HR processes and Workday HCM concepts.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with SaaS architecture and integration patterns, including SOAP, REST APIs and Orchestrations.
• Experience with XML, XSLT, ETV, XTT, JSON, HTML, JAVA.
• Proficiency with development and testing tools such as Workday Studio, Oxygen, Postman, or SOAP UI.
• Experience with Workday Extend is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Workday integration tools, including EIBs and Core Connectors.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base pay: $86,700.00 – $173,300.00 per year.
