Job Description

  • Adhere to applicable policies, systems, processes and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant CIB risk, regulatory and business control requirements.
  • Assess and document risk and regulatory components of transactions, enabling more experienced team members with due diligence and ensuring continued transaction feasibility from deal inception to conclusion.
  • Attend client engagements with more experienced team members and deliver technical components of pitch presentations in support of the deal process where required. Build, review, analyse, evaluate and maintain financial models to perform valuations and valuation analysis, applying principles of corporate finance theory to financial valuation
  • Contribute towards the financial and capital structuring of bespoke transactions by formulating supporting documentation including circulars, offering memorandums, engagement letters, term sheets, fees and legal agreements while adhering to the risk and regulatory framework.
  • Develop client networks, and with guidance from more experienced team members, maintain regular contact with a small group of clients to develop an understanding of their businesses and the drivers of their financial performance to enable the provision of bespoke and innovative client solutions.
  • Develop, review and update deal execution timetables / project timelines, ensuring all sequencing is aligned to relevant regulatory frameworks, thereby enabling successful and swift deal execution to deliver on the client's mandates.
  • Foster own internal stakeholder relationships across CIB (e.g. Client Coverage, Product Lines, Risk, Legal) to develop market understanding, industry knowledge and execution capabilities.
  • Manage delivery against several workstreams across origination, structuring and execution of transactions, liaising with and coordinating activities across internal and external stakeholders throughout the process. Manage quality control of all deliverables, paying close attention to detail to deliver a professional standard.
  • Monitor financial performance to support effective maintenance of financial control within the team. Contribute to weekly/monthly reports as well as quantitative/qualitative ad-hoc reports as required, ensuring inputs are provided timeously and according to defined formats and procedures.
  • Organise and prepare marketing and roadshow presentations, proposal, pitch books and presentations for client engagements.
  • Communicate multi disciplinary information (i.e. regulatory, financial, market data) in a clear, concise and relevant manner to assist and guide decision-makers, ensuring adherence to defined risk parameters and compliance standards.
  • Provide on the job guidance to less experienced team members to resolve any escalated issues and support achievement of objectives as per defined quality standards.
  • Stay abreast of news, research and insights on the macro economy, market, industry and client and counterparty base. Source, collate, evaluate, and maintain relevant, quality and accurate documents, data, information and trends.
  • Generate insights and Essential Functions recommendations from research, analyses and modelling findings to support more experienced team members across origination, structuring and execution workstreams.
  • Understand and manage transactions through internal processes, engaging with internal stakeholders to obtain relevant regulatory sign-offs and multiple levels of internal buy-in to ensure a smooth operational process in executing client transactions

Qualifications

  • Experience Details

  • Required/ Preferred 5-8 years Proficient understanding of key financial concepts, with experience in interpreting client financial statements, calculating financial ratios and building financial models for more experienced team member review.

  • Experience in drafting client documentation (presentation books, management presentations, board materials, memoranda, and other presentation materials). An understanding of legislation, regulations and industry codes of practice.
