About the Role The Long Island University College of Veterinary Medicine (LIU-CVM) in Brookville, New York, invites applications from self-directed, innovative and motivated individuals for a full-time or part-time, tenure or clinical track faculty position in basic surgery. Successful candidates will be engaged in the College’s educational, research and service activities.

What You'll Do

• Trap-Neuter-Release program clinical and didactic teaching in the principles of surgery course.
• Involvement in the small animal surgery course and laboratories, supervision of the small animal surgery clinical clerkship.
• Active participation in the Veterinary Skills courses offered in semesters 1 to 6 of the DVM program.
• Promote LIU-CVM’s overall mission of enhancing veterinary medical education through teaching, academic excellence, and service to a variety of stakeholders; engage in curriculum development, innovative learning resources, and committee service (Admissions, Curriculum, Research, etc.) for both clinical and tenure-track faculty.
• Contribute to the College’s research and scholarly goals; develop independent or collaborative research in the field of veterinary surgery within and outside LIU, including work with LIU-CVM partners/affiliate veterinary hospitals.

What We're Looking For

• DVM or equivalent degree, and expertise in veterinary (small animal) surgery.
• Specialty board certification/eligibility by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) or equivalent is desired but not required.
• Advanced training in small animal surgery and research with a PhD is desired but not required.
• Candidates with all levels of expertise and experience are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to promote a culture of diversity, equity and inclusiveness; ability to interact well with University administration, the veterinary education community, faculty, students, and alumni.

Nice to Have

• ACVS certification/eligibility (desirable)
• PhD or advanced research training (desirable)

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $130,001 – $185,000 per year (USD).
• Start Date: As soon as possible.
