About the Role The Department of Psychology at Long Island University—Brooklyn invites applicants for full-time, tenure-track positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The department offers an Undergraduate program, a General M.A. program, and a Ph.D. program in Clinical Psychology. Successful candidates will be expected to develop a productive research program with the potential for extramural funding and contribute to scholarship in their area of expertise. We are especially interested in applicants with expertise in cognitive, quantitative, and/or computational methodologies who could support emerging collaborations with LIU’s programs in Digital Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and the Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE Education Center of Excellence. The positions also require engagement in the Department’s activities, including advancing the MA program toward a more quantitative focus. Start date: as soon as possible.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain an externally funded research program in psychology, with emphasis on cognitive, quantitative, and/or computational approaches.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in psychology, supervise student research, and contribute to program and curriculum development.
• Engage in collaborative, cross-disciplinary work with LIU’s Digital Engineering, AI, and 3DEXPERIENCE programs to advance research in precision medicine and digital health.
• Contribute to department service and participate in efforts to transition the MA program toward a more quantitative orientation.
• Mentor students and promote a diverse and inclusive scholarly community.

What We're Looking For

• A doctoral degree in Psychology or a related Psychological Science (e.g., Social, Cognitive, I/O, Developmental, etc.).
• Evidence of potential to secure extramural funding and a record of significant scholarship; strong interest in cognitive, quantitative, and/or computational methods.
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines and with clinical/education psychology programs; commitment to teaching and mentoring at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and the ability to contribute to LIU’s diverse community (a statement addressing DEI is required).

Nice to Have

• Demonstrated interest or experience in interdisciplinary collaborations with Digital Engineering, AI, and health-related centers.
• Track record or clear potential for interdisciplinary grant funding and cross-program mentorship.
• Experience in digital health, precision medicine, or related areas is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $76,971 - $84,557 per year.
