About the Role The College of Engineering at Tuskegee University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering, starting Fall 2026 or Spring 2027. The position emphasizes Mechatronics, Robotics, and Mechanics, with duties in teaching, research, and service to the department and university.
What You'll Do
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Mechanical Engineering.
- Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
- Conduct and publish research; pursue competitive proposals in area of specialization.
- Engage students with hands-on, practical applications of engineering theory.
- Communicate effectively with a diverse student and faculty population.
- Collaborate with other faculty and staff; participate in departmental, college, and university events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- An earned Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering.
- Specialization in Mechatronics, Robotics and/or Controls, and Mechanics.
- Ability to teach a broad range of allied Mechanical Engineering courses.
- Knowledge and experience in Advanced Manufacturing.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to use contemporary technology in engineering education.
Nice to Have
- Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering.
- Specialization in Mechatronics, Robotics and/or Controls, and Mechanics.
- Ability to teach a broad range of allied Mechanical Engineering courses.
