Job title: Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs
About the Role The Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs at LIU Brooklyn Campus provides strategic leadership over academic functions, collaborating with Deans, faculty and units to achieve campus-wide goals and uphold accreditation standards. This role drives curriculum and program development, student success initiatives, and data-based decision-making to advance teaching and learning and the overall mission of LIU.
What You'll Do
- Lead efforts to operationalize the strategic vision for academic programs through innovation and collaboration across schools and colleges.
- Collaborate with Deans to ensure efficient daily operations and that strategic objectives are met.
- Oversee planning, supervision, communication and evaluation to ensure excellence and productivity of academic department structures.
- Guide external program approvals, accreditation and re-accreditation processes, and internal program review.
- Ensure consistent administration of academic policies and processes across all departments and units.
- Provide leadership in curriculum and program development; advance teaching and learning environments; promote scholarly activities.
- Promote experiential and out-of-classroom learning and support services for students to create a dynamic living-learning environment.
- Lead Deans and department heads to meet enrollment targets, retention, and graduation rates; ensure mission-driven objectives.
- Exercise prudent resource allocation and oversee class and section size management with data-driven decisions.
- Foster a culture of creativity and collaboration via shared governance and regular campus-wide communication.
What We're Looking For
- Earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution; Ph.D. preferred.
- At least 7 years of progressively responsible, senior university administration experience, including accreditations, faculty rank, assessment and promotion processes.
- Experience developing and executing academic strategies in a complex university setting; ability to implement the university’s strategic plan.
- Executive leadership with visionary thinking and commitment to research and educational excellence; strong collaboration and consensus-building abilities.
- Integrity and the ability to earn trust of peers and staff; adept at resolving a wide range of administrative and personnel issues.
Nice to Have
- Experience with external accreditation processes and program reviews at a large university.
- Demonstrated ability to use data analytics to inform decisions and improvements.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $125,000 - $150,000 per year (USD); Exempt (FLSA).
- Start date: As soon as possible.
