About the Role The Department of Psychology at the College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor to support our APA-accredited doctoral program in School Psychology. The appointment is on-campus in Syracuse, NY, with academic-year terms and potential summer stipends for supervision or related activities depending on candidate interests and departmental needs. The department emphasizes fostering belonging and inclusive practice across diverse identities within professional training.

What You'll Do

  • Teach up to six courses annually, including undergraduate courses in child or developmental psychology and graduate courses in areas such as applied behavior analysis, consultation, and related practica.
  • Supervise clinical training for doctoral students completing a year-long practicum in a university training clinic or externally.
  • Maintain a caseload to preserve and enhance clinical skills; provide hands-on training and demonstrations for graduate students; support clinic operations and revenue.
  • Collaborate with the Director of the Psychological Service Center on new rotations or services aligned with your background and interests.
  • Participate in service activities at the department, college, and university levels.

What We're Looking For

  • Ph.D. in School Psychology preferred; a Ph.D. in other license-eligible fields will be considered.
  • Active licensure as a Psychologist in New York State or license-eligible and able to obtain New York State licensure within 6 months of start date.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses and to supervise and mentor students in clinical settings; commitment to preparing graduate students to support a sense of belonging for all identities.
  • Ability to contribute to a welcoming environment and align with the department’s mission.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $63,690 - $70,000 per year (8.5 months’ salary; faculty pay ranges are for 8.5 months’ salary unless otherwise specified). The pay will be determined by education, experience, and relevant skills in the context of the home department.
  • On-campus position with regular in-person presence; remote work arrangements are limited in accordance with University policy.
