About the Role The Assistant Spirit Squad Coach is a part-time role that supports the Head Spirit Squad Coach with practices, game day responsibilities, clinics, recruiting qualified student-athletes, fundraising, program gear organization, community engagement, and monitoring student-athlete academic progress. What You'll Do
- Attend all practices and games
- Assist with recruiting and evaluation of qualified student-athletes
- Develop and implement fundraising initiatives to support the program
- Monitor student-athletes’ academic schedules, grades, and overall progress
- Promote good sportsmanship and enforce appropriate team behavior
- Assist athletic administration with alumni relations initiatives
- Ensure compliance with Alma College, team, NCAA Division III, and USA Cheer rules and regulations
- Positively represent Alma College in community, media, and recruiting interactions
- Support the mission and philosophy of Alma College and the athletic department
- Foster student-athlete development as engaged members of the campus and broader community
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Spirit Squad Coach or Athletics Director What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree
- Collegiate-level playing and/or coaching experience
- Knowledge of NCAA Division III, STUNT, and NCA rules and structure, and understanding of Division III student-athlete philosophy
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Ability to perform all essential job functions Nice to Have
