Job Title: Assistant Restaurant Manager

Job Purpose
- The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, supervising staff, maintaining excellent customer service, and ensuring that the restaurant operates efficiently and according to company standards.
Key Responsibilities

Assist the Restaurant Manager with the daily running of the restaurant.

Supervise waiters/waitresses, bartenders, kitchen staff, and other employees.

Ensure staff are punctual, properly dressed, and ready for their shifts.

Assist in preparing staff schedules and duty rosters.
-
Monitor staff performance and provide guidance where necessary.
-
Ensure excellent customer service is consistently provided.
-
Attend to customer complaints and resolve issues professionally.

Monitor food and beverage service to ensure quality and timely delivery.

Assist with monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages to the Manager.
-
Help control food, beverage, and operational wastage.
-
Ensure proper handling of cash, POS transactions, and customer payments.
-
Assist with daily sales reconciliation and operational reports.
-
Ensure the restaurant, bar, kitchen, and service areas remain clean and organised.

Ensure staff comply with hygiene, health, safety, and company policies.
-
Assist with staff training, onboarding, and coaching.
-
Support the Restaurant Manager in implementing company policies and procedures.

Assist with opening and closing procedures.
-
Coordinate operations in the absence of the Restaurant Manager.

Support restaurant promotions, events, and special activities.

Report operational challenges, staff issues, customer feedback, and incidents to the Restaurant Manager.

Perform other duties assigned by management.

Requirements & Qualifications
-
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in restaurant, hospitality, or food-service operations.

OND, HND, Bachelor’s degree, or relevant qualification is an advantage.

Previous supervisory experience is preferred.

Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
