Job Description Summary
The History, Politics, and Law Department at Nazareth University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment in Political Science with a focus on international relations and/or regional politics outside of the US to begin in August 2027. The successful applicant will teach a range of undergraduate courses – including several international relations courses, courses in their specific area of expertise, and a political science methods course – and collaborate with the International and Global Studies program. Area of expertise is open, but preference will be given to candidates with research and teaching background in Africa, the Middle East, or the European Union.
Additionally, preference will be given to candidates with the ability to contribute to our Global Sustainability program and/or other interdisciplinary areas focused on global issues, cultures, and human rights.
The standard teaching load is four courses per semester. A Ph.D. in political science is required. ABD candidates will be considered. Applicants should have a proven record of teaching excellence and success in working with diverse student populations.

Applications should include: 1. cover letter, 2. curriculum vitae (or a resume with detailed description of education, teaching, scholarship and professional experience), 3. statement of teaching philosophy that includes evidence of achieved or potential excellence in teaching diverse students, 4. evidence of teaching (such as syllabi for courses taught, course/teaching evaluations, or other relevant materials), and 5. the names and contact information for three recommenders. Letters may be requested during the application process.
The position will begin in fall 2027.
