The Department also supports the University’s General Education curriculum and provides instruction for students across a variety of academic and professional programs.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, actively participate in curriculum development, and provide academic and professional advising to a post-traditional student population. While this is a teaching-focused, tenure-track position, the successful candidate will be expected to have an active scholarly agenda and a desire to contribute to the life of the Department, College, and University. This position requires travel to other campuses for teaching, academic meetings, and other special events.

  • Academic qualifications to teach courses in either Chemistry or Physics.
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching, student development, and student success.
  • The ability to translate teaching excellence into courses with various formats, including face-to-face, online, and hybrid, in an accelerated format.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Foundational and college-level science teaching experience
  • Experience teaching students from diverse academic backgrounds, especially adult/post-traditional learners.
  • Experience in innovative discipline-specific science curriculum design.
  • Interest in student learning and responsible assessment in the age of AI (or other emerging technologies) and exploring the effective use of these to enhance science teaching and learning.
