Job title: Assistant Professor of Counseling (Tenure-Track)

The Social and Behavioral Sciences Department at Keystone College in La Plume, PA invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Candidate must be a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania (or license eligible). We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual who will contribute to the College’s teaching, program development, research, and service missions. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to impact our unique student population and to shape the future of our programs.

Responsibilities

• Teach graduate and potentially undergraduate courses in psychology and counseling theories, consistent with the applicant’s areas of expertise and the department’s curricular needs.
• Conduct and publish high-quality, original research in counseling psychology and related fields, with a focus on at least one of the following areas: rural mental health and/or the practice of counseling with culturally diverse populations.
• Supervise student research projects at both the graduate and undergraduate level.
• Engage in service activities such as committee participation, program development, and community engagement.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of the department’s curriculum and programs.
• Mentor students and provide advising on academic and career-related matters.
• Actively participate in departmental meetings, Faculty Senate (with committee involvement), faculty development opportunities, and other departmental activities.
• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration within and outside the college.
• Participate in regional and national professional organizations in counseling.
• Provide clinical supervision to graduate students.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Counseling/Counselor Education, or related field, from an CACREP-accredited program.

• Candidate must be licensed, or license-eligible, as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania

• Demonstrated ability to teach a diverse range of courses within psychology and counseling fields.

• Proven track record of research in one or more of the following areas: rural mental health, community counseling, counseling diverse populations, sports psychology, and/or health psychology.

• Strong commitment to mentorship, student success, and fostering an inclusive learning environment.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and the broader local community.
