Job title: Assistant Professor of Chemistry
Job Summary
The Department of Chemistry at Susquehanna University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in analytical chemistry to start in August 2027.
Specific Responsibilities
- Primary teaching duties will include courses in the department’s introductory sequence (General Chemistry, Methods of Chemical Analysis), plus a special topics course in the candidate’s area of expertise.
- In addition, the opportunity exists to participate in the university’s First Year Seminar program.
- The successful candidate is also expected to develop a research program in analytical or bioanalytical chemistry that has significant undergraduate student involvement.
Minimum Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in Chemistry is required, and college-level teaching experience and/or postdoctoral research experience is strongly preferred.
- Preference will also be given to candidates who have a background in chromatography (HPLC, LC/MS).
- The successful candidate will demonstrate strong evidence for the potential to provide excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring.
