Job title: Assistant Professor of Accounting
About the Role The university seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Accounting in the Department of Business. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching, engaged in scholarly activities, and committed to the academic and professional development of students within Carson-Newman’s Christian mission.
What You'll Do
- Plan and deliver lectures, develop course assignments, and grade student work.
- Advise and mentor students on academic paths and career matters.
- Update and revise current course materials and develop new courses or programs as needed.
- Support the University through committee service and attendance at required events.
- Conduct research to stay current in the field and attend conferences as appropriate.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of a Master of Accountancy or a terminal degree in a related business field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in accounting and a CPA. Candidates with 18 graduate hours in law and/or teaching experience are preferred.
- Preferably at least 1 year of teaching experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills; advanced organizational skills; and the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with all stakeholders.
