FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Lehman College Department of Psychology invites applications for one or more full-time, tenure-track faculty members at the Assistant Professor rank. We encourage candidates to apply whose research is in any area of Clinical or Counseling Psychology. The start date is August 2027. Successful candidates must have a strong record of research and publication and a commitment both to seeking external funding and to undergraduate teaching.

We are seeking candidates with an established program of research in any area of Clinical or Counseling Psychology. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an active research program; seek external funding for their research; teach undergraduate classes in their area of expertise; mentor undergraduate students in research; advise students; provide service to the department, school, college, and university, e.g., committee, administrative, supervisory. Some in-person teaching is expected and some evening teaching may be needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• PhD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or related field. Candidates must demonstrate effectiveness in teaching and communication, scholarly achievement, and collaborative potential.

• Preferred qualifications include a strong publication and funding record; an innovative program of research that would likely be of interest to our students; and a commitment to mentoring undergraduate students. There is the potential for joining the doctoral faculty of the CUNY Graduate Center to mentor PhD students through one of the psychology programs there.

COMPENSATION

$112,841 for a 9-month, full-time appointment.
