Job title: Assistant Professor, CFA (Nephrology/Onco-Nephrology)
About the Role The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center seeks an Assistant Professor, CFA to provide clinical care in Nephrology and Onco-Nephrology, teach medical fellows and students, and lead clinical research activities within the Department of Nephrology.
What You'll Do
- Provide clinical expertise in patient care management for nephrology and oncology patients with compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Perform complete history and physical examinations; document medical records in a timely manner; communicate with physicians by phone or in writing regarding patient care and treatment.
- Develop and maintain a clinical consultative practice and request appropriate consultations for referred patients.
- Serve on institutional and hospital committees as requested and participate in related meetings.
- Actively engage in clinical research and scholarly activity, develop and execute clinical research aligned with department goals, and supervise research support personnel as needed.
- Provide education for medical fellows and students rotating through Section of Nephrology; participate in teaching conferences; serve as a role model and disseminate information learned from external conferences.
What We're Looking For
- MD degree from an accredited medical school; completed residency training in an approved American Residency Program or equivalent.
- Completed clinical fellowship in Nephrology and has been accepted by the American Board of Internal Medicine with a subspecialty in Nephrology; valid Texas medical license.
- Demonstrated medical knowledge and the ability to practice internal medicine and medical oncology in accordance with professional standards.
- Strong analytical skills, ability to synthesize information, and capacity to empathize with cancer patients and families.
- Commitment to ethical practice, professional development, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
