About the Role
The University of Portland invites applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant or Associate Professor in the Shiley School of Engineering to begin January 4, 2027 or August 15, 2027. The role involves teaching undergraduate electrical engineering, conducting scholarly activity, and performing service within a primarily undergraduate institution.
What You'll Do
- Teach undergraduate electrical engineering courses in the Shiley School of Engineering
- Engage in scholarly activity and research with potential for dissemination
- Advise students and participate in student mentoring
- Serve on School and University committees; engage in professional associations and public service
- Contribute to curriculum development and employ evidence-based instructional practices

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: 2026-2027 annual salary for a first-year assistant professor is $101,166; for a first-year associate professor, $112,283
- Benefits include medical and dental insurance, life insurance, sick time and vacation time, long-term disability insurance, flexible spending accounts, tuition remission (employee generally starting after 90 days; spouse and children after 2 years of employment), and retirement contributions generally starting after 2 years of continuous full-time employment
