Position Details
The Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences (EAS) at The City College of New York (CCNY) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in Atmospheric Science. The search targets atmospheric scientists with expertise in data assimilation, numerical modeling, and related data-intensive approaches to weather, air quality, and urban environmental hazards. Preference will be given to candidates with experience applying AI and machine-learning tools in these areas. The successful candidate will help build a research group focused on urban weather and climate and collaborate across disciplines to advance urban resilience. The candidate is expected to establish a vigorous, externally funded research program that broadens and complements existing departmental strengths, develop new courses, and teach existing courses in atmospheric science.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science (or a closely related field coupled with publications focused on atmospheric science or urban environmental hazards).

Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarly achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

Compensation
Assistant Professor: $105,588 - $114,091
Associate Professor: $117,971 - $134,808
