About the Role Mississippi College's Department of Mathematics and Computer Science seeks two experienced, visionary leaders for a tenure-track position as Assistant or Associate Professor in Computer Science. The roles will contribute to teaching, scholarly activity, and service within a faith-based private university that grounds academic excellence in Christian values.
What You'll Do
- Teaching load: 12 credit hours per semester with flexibility for compensated overloads as needed.
- Develop and deliver courses for the university's expanding online program.
- Maintain regular office hours for counseling and academic support; mentor and advise departmental students.
- Integrate faith and learning in pedagogical approaches.
- Supervise undergraduate and graduate theses, projects, and research initiatives; serve on thesis and project committees.
- Maintain active scholarly engagement through research, professional development, and industry connections.
- Participate actively in departmental and campus-wide committees; engage with professional organizations and industry partners.
- Contribute to the broader computer science education community and support the university's mission and Christian identity through service.
What We're Looking For
- Ph.D. in Computer Science or closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Academic credentials commensurate with appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
