JOB PURPOSE

The Assistant Operation Supervisor is a tactical position, accountable and responsible for the manage all aspects of Central Control Room (CCR) Operations of Associated Gas Gathering (AGG) facilities and Non-Associated Gas (NAG) facilities, including the operationalization of the approved Operating envelops, with a view to maximize process safety, production uptime, and efficiency.

He/she is accountable, and responsible for the integration of all other functional contributions to achieve disruption free running of the AGG and NAG processes in the CCR.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Safety responsibilities

• Execute and enforce Operations Management System policies and procedures in particular Isolation/de-isolation Standards, and PTW.
• Monitor, analyze and manage alarms and participate in variable table reviews.
• Report all discharges, leaks, spills, weeps, missing bolts, loose connections, injuries, and incidents around the SEM, AGG, NAG and Eastern domestic gas network.
• Carry out assigned Emergency Response role.

Control Room Responsibilities

• Maximize value creation/revenue generation for Heirs Energies by optimising production.
• Continuously monitor process parameters at human machine Interface (HMI) in the Central Control Room (CCR) and ensure all parameters are within the approved operating envelop, also, intervene as necessary to mitigate alarms and other process deviations.
• Monitor and operate the electronic/electrical/hydraulic control panels, safety and emergency shutdown devices, Fire and Gas Systems
• Continually engage other disciplines, as an integrator of field technicians’ activities that impact the CCR, to ensure that CCR information is in sync with the transmitters, sensors, and valves within the plant.
• Execute approve changes to process set points and flag any unintended consequence to the Operations Team leader for mitigation and management.
• Make tactical inputs to support the superintendents with continuous improvement of process safety and process efficiency.
• Maintain a register/log of derogations, deviations, MoCs, LO/LC, and overrides in the facility; flag any non-conformance and follow through to closure.
• Lead the implementation of Production excellence best practices in the CCR to enhance facility availability, lower deferment, lower UOC and exceed production targets.
• Co-ordinate AGG and NAG facility Start up, ramp-up, shutdown and hydrocarbon dispatch in collaboration with RTOC; Operate, Monitor and Shut Down incoming feed/wells, Process, Utility, Dehydration and Fire water Systems,
• Troubleshoot deviations and implement interventions timely, to maximize Uptime and sales volumes, quantity/quality to customers.
• Ensure accurate and timely production data reporting daily or as required by Heirs Energies
• witness transmitter, valves, and meter validations and calibrations and verify they are in sync with HMI readings in the CCR.

Maintenance:

• Assist maintenance and operations field work crews by applying /removing isolation/Maintenance overrides as required.
• Participate in collaborative multidisciplinary investigations, including resolution HMI-Field Device Command-status errors.

Field Operations

• Troubleshoot deviations from gas sales volume and specification and implement timely interventions, to maximize sales volumes, quantity, and quality to customers.
• Escalate Production and Process issue/complaints in a timely manner to the production team leaders and/or Superintendent, and follow-up on agreed mitigations and resolution.
• Ensure accurate and timely gas production data reporting, daily or as required by company, witness third party meter validations for SEM at Obigbo AGG plant
• Maintain a daily events log pertaining to AGG, SEM and NAG events.
• Perform well Test, including sampling and bean-changes for multi-rate Tests
• Perform Gas testing and gas monitoring.
• Perform facility Start-up, Shutdown, and Production Optimization services.
• Perform Gaslift Optimization
• Perform Production surveillance, data gathering, analysis and Reporting.
• Carry out process control, process isolation across COMPANY Field locations.
• Line up processes for specific activities in line with the respective procedures.
• Perform Wellhead surveillance operations, Wellhead Bean inspection and Bean changes
• Carry out front-line equipment maintenance.
• Ensure the facilities and equipment are in a constant state of cleanliness.
• Perform work scheduling and site logistic optimization.
• Participate in worksite safety assurance tasks, utilizing SSOW, PTW, etc

JOB CONTEXT & KEY CHALLENGES

• The incumbent shall be a member of the Heirs Energies Field Production Team.
• Main Challenges include Integration of multi-discipline field technicians and control room staff to deliver a common CCR objective seamlessly and consistently. The incumbent does not have direct authority over this multidisciplinary team.
• Helping others imbibe the Heirs Energies behavioural changes for TQ performance in safety, Production, and continuous improvement across all CCR workflows.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders on issues related to compressor availability, reliability and uptime.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of a HND or university degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

• 10 years, hands-on field experience in the operation and maintenance of AGG and NAG facilities, of which five must be in CCR operations.
• Good understanding of HSSE requirements, good track record in managing personal and process safety
• Skill to delivery results, not individually but through others, without direct authority
• Broad knowledge/experience of oil and gas operations data management and reporting
• Strong analytical skills and ability to pull together information, identify the issues, then prepare reports.
• Strong interpersonal skills, and experience in interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
