Job title: Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach
About the Role The Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach will support the Head Coach in organizing and guiding the basketball program within the Department of Athletics. This role involves assisting with practices, motivating players, and teaching game strategies, with attention to academic progress as well. The position is part of Stillman College's athletics division under the Presidents’ office.
What You'll Do
- Assist Head Basketball Coach with instructing players in rules, regulations and sport technique.
- Organizes and directs individual and small group practice activities and player development directed by the head coach.
- Assist with determining game strategy.
- Assist with supervising athletes during practices and competition.
- Coordinate the academic component related to study hall and progress reports.
- Maintain and distribute equipment, supplies, and uniforms to student athletes as directed by the Head Coach.
- Assist the head coach in the procurement of equipment and supplies.
- Perform support tasks such as distributing and maintaining eligibility forms and emergency data cards and other related records.
- Attend staff meetings, clinics and other related professional activities to improve coaching performance.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- 2 years or more collegiate, high school or professional coaching experience.
- Able to provide on court player instruction.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
