About the Role Two integrated roles supporting Luther College's athletics and aquatics programs: Assistant Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Coach and Assistant Director of the Aquatics Center. The positions involve coaching, program administration, athlete development, and facility operations to foster competitive excellence and safe community engagement.
What You'll Do
- As Assistant Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Coach: attend and actively participate in practices, meets, recruiting activities, and planning sessions; assist in administration and roster management; recruit and retain student-athletes who align with the college’s mission; promote academic success and well-being; support travel, meet operations, equipment, and compliance with policies; engage in professional development and maintain NCAA Division III best practices.
- As Assistant Director of Aquatics Center: assist with daily operation and administration; schedule, train, supervise, and evaluate lifeguards and student employees; oversee pool operations, facility scheduling, risk management, and safety procedures; maintain certifications; assist with community programs, rentals, and camps; collaborate with campus partners and athletics staff; assist with events and departmental initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree required; collegiate athletic participation or coaching experience required.
- One to three years of coaching, aquatics, athletic administration, or related experience preferred.
- Lifeguarding and CPR/AED certifications required upon hire; Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) certification preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit and retain qualified student-athletes; experience supervising student employees preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to cultivate inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and friends of the college.
Nice to Have
- Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) certification preferred.
- Experience supervising student employees preferred.
Compensation & Benefits Salary range: USD 26,000 - 27,500 annually.
