About the Role The role involves operating a Pumped Storage Plant (PSP) in Mandideep under the Plant Head / Operation Head, managing direct and indirect staff, and ensuring safe, efficient generation as per the schedule. The incumbent will coordinate with load centers and the Load Dispatch Centre to handle generation schedule changes and will liaise with various departments to optimize plant operations. What You'll Do

• Start/stop units as per the generation schedule in close coordination with the client and Load Dispatch Centre.
• Use turbine/pump and reservoir efficiently to maximize resource utilization.
• Prepare reports such as Daily Performance Report, Daily Generation Report, Water Utilization, Breakdown Report, Plant Availability, and other reports as per format.
• Prepare risk assessments and action plans for every power generation activity in coordination with the EHS representative.
• Troubleshoot and assist system experts to identify breakdowns, preventive/shutdown maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Understand vibration analysis of equipment installed in the plant.
• Prepare SOPs and Local Operating Procedures for safe and efficient operation and encourage adherence.
• Manage a motivated, flexible, cross-trained and technically astute workforce. What We're Looking For
• Operating the Hydro Power Plant / PSP as Shift In-Charge efficiently according to generation schedule and reservoir availability.
• Proficient in operation of the Plant from SCADA in the Control Room and Unit Control Board.
• Coordination with load centers / various departments for efficient operation.
• Monitoring machine parameters to improve MTBF.
• Strong understanding of hydro electrical equipment (GIS, Generator, LT/MV system, PLCs, Electrical Protection Relays, Plant Instruments).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated leadership and strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals and drawings.
• PPE compliance and adherence to policies and procedures.
• Proficiency in English.
• Qualification: Regular B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering; ~10 years in hydro power plants / PSP; 3–5 years as Shift In-Charge for 100 MW+ capacity; O&M experience in 100 MW PSP; adept at breakdown analysis.
• Reporting line: Direct – Plant Head / Operation In-Charge. Nice to Have
• Microsoft Office tools proficiency.
