Job title: Assistant Manager – Chemicals Team
About the Role An exciting opportunity within CFAO South Africa's Chemicals Team, based in Durban. The Assistant Manager will oversee the overall operational supply chain and logistics for the department to maximise efficiency and productivity, while developing and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and customers.
What You'll Do
- Assist in preparing the Sales Budget and provide key customer information and sales activity trends
- Coordinate with the team to meet Sales Objectives and complete monthly sales analysis
- Perform Gross Profit analysis and report GP trends and Kaizen opportunities to management
- Manage networking capital with close monitoring of overdue inventory and resolution of damaged/expired stock
- Manage customer relationships, understand customer business environment, and expand business with key customers
- Support Coordinator with customer visits, negotiations, and rapid resolutions of critical queries
- Support and coordinate key milestones for new projects, trials, and ensure positive completion of project tasks
- Handle processes from Request for Quotation, preparation of quotes, to order management
- Supervise and assist SAP processing and related data tracking
- Implement First In, First Out stock management and control
- Ensure monthly tasks (invoicing, inbound, MICRO) are completed by month-end
- Resolve queries timely (Quality, Damaged Stock, Overdue Debtors, Airfreight costs)
- Facilitate Kaizen and regular communication with exporting country; submit quarterly pricing to customers
- Participate in training related to current and future job functions
- Maintain interpersonal relationships (teamwork, customers, suppliers) and complete special projects
- Assist with divisional audits and daily warehouse visits
