The Federal College of Education, Yola was established in 1974 as a middle level Teacher Training Institute. Hitherto, it was known as Federal advance Teachers College, (FATC) Yola. However, actual academic activities commenced during the 1975/76 session, with a total of 150 students under the leadership of the Pioneer Principal.
