Assistant Groundskeeper
The Assistant Groundskeeper assists with all aspects of athletic and intramural field maintenance including turf care, event preparation, and equipment maintenance.
Job Duties
- Maintain athletic and intramural fields including mowing, edging, fertilizing, etc.
- Prepare athletic and intramural fields for competition.
- Operate light and heavy equipment such as backpack blowers, sprayers, etc.
- Maintain and safely store all equipment and tools.
- Assist with other campus grounds projects as needed.
Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.

Possess a current, valid driver's license in the State of Alabama.

Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment, occupational hazards, and safety precautions of the trade.

Lifting and carrying a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.

Performing tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances.

Working within extreme temperature ranges.

Ability to exercise tact and discretion with customers and the public, including reasonable standards of personal appearance.

Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in turf management and general knowledge of rules and regulations specific to college level athletics is preferred
