About this role
About the Role The Assistant General Manager acts as the right-hand to the General Manager, filling in for the GM in all functions while the GM is out of the building and supporting the restaurant team and operations for quality, service, and business results.
What You'll Do
- Support all restaurant operations to ensure quality of product and customer service, including team member performance, budgeting, food and labor costs, and sales building.
- Maintain and operate restaurant equipment; oversee food and beverage preparation, storage, inventory, and presentation; manage food/service delivery and vendor invoices/ordering.
- Maintain manager logs, communications, and ensure cash and POS accuracy and security; communicate with team members, guests, vendors, and Hielan personnel.
- Act as Kitchen Manager for Hielan area and step in for the GM when required; ensure safe food handling and health standards compliance (Steritech readiness).
- Understand and execute the Quarterly Business Plan; demonstrate Hielan Service 101 and P.A.C.E; model management practices and hold the team accountable.
- Drive shift-level performance toward budget targets; follow operational systems (Manager Timeline, line checks).
- Develop and pursue the Hielan Manager Career Development plan toward GM readiness; assist in hiring, terminations, promotions, and raises decisions.
- Train and develop hourly team members; provide timely feedback; mentor Managers and Shift Leaders.
- Participate in maintenance and capital expenditure decisions within budget; assist with inventory counts and reconciliation.
- Be a vocal, guest-focused leader; lead by example every shift; may perform duties of a food server, expo, line cook, service assistant, or food runner when needed.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $50,000 – $65,000 per year. Benefits may vary by location.
