We’re growing fast. This role leads the daily management and maintenance of the organization’s buildings, systems, and grounds to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant facility operations. It oversees maintenance programs, preventive workflows, repairs, vendor partnerships, and facilities staff to support reliable operations and a positive donor and staff experience. In addition to operational oversight, this role plays a key part in strategic facilities planning, including long‑term capital planning, lifecycle asset management, future site needs, and alignment of facility initiatives with organizational growth. The role also contributes to risk management, operational improvements, and the development of standards that enhance scalability and performance.

This is What You’ll Do

  • Responsible for team performance of projects and initiatives
  • Provide ongoing developmental feedback to team based on goal setting aligning with department and company strategy
  • Provide performance reviews according to company schedule
  • Liaise with HR for talent acquisition and development of team.
  • Accountable for team performance of KPI's to include project and work order completion, within budget, and on time.
  • Provide leadership development for team based on personal growth and the strategy of the company
  • Plan and direct the construction and renovation of all facilities nationwide through the supervision of external contractors, architects, engineers, and vendors to ensure maximum quality and efficiency at the lowest possible cost.
  • Develops and maintains the appropriate capital appropriation plans to ensure on time and within budget for each project.
  • Assist with the development of a center relocation and expansion strategy.
  • Assist with the development of a disaster recovery program including files of drawings, specifications and lists of contractors for each location.
  • Manage vendor operations including security, maintenance, sprinkler, fire extinguisher, lighting, plumbing, recycling, etc. for all Octapharma Plasma Inc locations including corporate, donor centers, laboratory and warehouse.
  • Provide monthly reports to the Director of Facilities regarding project updates, project costs, new issues, productivity/accomplishments, incidents and work order details.
  • Investigate site incidents.
  • Participate in the Octapharma Plasma’s Safety Committee and coordinate safety management activity along with the human resources department on OSHA compliance, hazard analysis, SDS management, job safety analysis, personal protective equipment management, training, and safety inspections.
  • Act as Chief Fire Warden.
  • Act as the emergency services contact in local and national emergencies.
  • Chemical hazardous & non-hazardous waste vendor management
  • Obtain environmental permits and certificates as required.
  • Ensure building access security.
  • Provide after-hours contact/availability.
  • Drive the development of a standard for plasma donation centers that maximizes durability, standardization and functionality to minimize cost.
  • Ensure effective cost spend on all projects utilizing internal and external partners to value engineer
  • Responsible for cross department collaboration and alignment on solutions for operational excellence, remodels, and maintenance of existing properties.
  • Drives strategic initiatives and ensures proper support to key stakeholders
  • Responsible for strategic planning collaborating with internal stakeholders for all property related initiatives to include planning, budgeting, and executing on the initiatives.
  • Leading the facilities team in execution of the strategic plans impacting all properties
  • Creating capital and maintenance budgets for all owned and leased properties.
  • Optimize the operating model and organizational structure.
  • Responsible for optimizing and maintaining department job descriptions.
  • Collaborates with team, external partners, and internal stakeholders to problem solve property related issues

This is What it Takes

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or other related field required.
  • 5 - 7 years’ work experience in engineering, construction, and project management required.
  • Experience managing leases and leased properties required.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience, including managing teams, contractors, and cross‑functional partners required.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale projects, including new builds, renovations, and capital improvements required.
  • Experience in multi-site, regulated, or high-volume operations (healthcare, manufacturing, labs, logistics, retail networks, etc.) strongly preferred.

Required Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations

  • Professional Engineer’s and/or Real Estate license preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, and energy management.
  • Expertise in multi-site construction project management, scheduling, contracting, and inspection coordination.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs, CMMS systems, and facility workflow planning.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Ability to lead OSHA, EPA, and safety compliance programs.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and vendor‑negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and coordinate across teams and departments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer‑service focus.
  • Detail‑oriented, project‑focused, and computer‑proficient.

  • Position works in-office at the corporate location

  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to reach, bend, and stoop as necessary
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to focus and concentrate on tasks for extended periods
  • Ability to navigate the office environment safely, including stairs and elevators
  • Ability to travel up to 30% via airplane or vehicle
  • Ability to use assistive devices if needed for mobility or communication
