  • Assist with the owner’s half-yearly and year-end financial schedules

  • Help department heads understand hotel systems, financial results, budgets and forecasts

  • Payroll and payments

  • Oversee the timely payment of creditors, wages, commissions and tax, including foreign payments and internet banking

  • Audit weekly payroll and sign off master file changes, pay rate changes and new hires

  • Act as a Class “B” bank account signatory, signing together with a Class “A” signatory

  • Compliance and controls

  • Lodge statutory reports and returns accurately and on time, including BAS (GST), payroll tax, PAYG withholding, PPCA, workers’ compensation and ABS reporting

  • Make sure Elysium, Accor and Sovereign Operations policies are implemented and internal controls are working effectively

  • Maintain compliance with the Accor Internal Audit program and ensure all internal and external audit recommendations are actioned

  • Oversee compliance with GST, privacy, AML/CTF, superannuation, immigration, Queensland WorkCover and gaming regulatory requirements, including daily and monthly gaming cash reconciliations

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of hotel accounting systems, reconciliations, month-end processes and internal controls

  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting and management reporting
