Join Chartwells K-12 as the Assistant Director of Dining Services supporting Tri County Area Schools in Sand Lake, Michigan, a district serving approximately 1,600-1,700 students across four schools. Reporting directly to the Director of Dining Services, this role is a key part of the district leadership team, helping oversee daily dining operations while ensuring students receive a positive dining experience. The Assistant Director will provide hands-on leadership for approximately 12 frontline associates, supporting hiring, training, scheduling, employee development, food safety, and daily operational execution. We are seeking a relationship-driven leader who enjoys being visible in the schools, coaching teams, solving problems, and driving service excellence. Ideal candidates will bring food service, hospitality, restaurant, or school nutrition leadership experience, along with a passion for developing people and creating a positive, accountable team culture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Works with the Chef and management team in creating nutritious and top quality food.
• Implements new culinary programs in conjunction with the marketing and culinary teams.
• Maintains excellent relationships with the client.
• Manages, trains, and develops associates.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of food service management experience.
• Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Financial experience and business acumen skills.
• Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.
• Associate’s degree is preferred.
