Assistant Cook (Chinese Cuisine)

Job Summary
- The Assistant Cook will support the head cook in preparing and serving meals, with a basic knowledge of Chinese cuisine and cooking methods.
- The successful candidate will assist with daily kitchen operations, maintain food hygiene standards, and ensure meals are prepared efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and cooking Chinese meals under the supervision of the Head Cook.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of Chinese ingredients, seasonings, recipes, and cooking techniques.
- Wash, peel, cut, and prepare vegetables, meat, fish, and other ingredients.
- Must be able to prepare steamed buns, steamed buns, stesmed stuffled buns, dumplings, rice, noodles, soups, stir-fried dishes, and other Chinese meals.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, utensils, and cooking equipment.
- Store food ingredients properly and monitor their freshness to minimise waste.
- Assist with meal serving and ensure food is ready at the scheduled times.
- Follow instructions from the Head Cook and comply with company food safety procedures.
Job Requirements
- Basic knowledge or experience in preparing Chinese meals.
- Ability to identify common Chinese cooking ingredients, seasonings, and sauces.
- Basic cooking skills and willingness to learn new recipes and techniques.
- Knowledge of kitchen hygiene, food handling, and safe storage practices.
- Ability to work effectively with the Head Cook and other kitchen staff.
- Relevant cooking experience or culinary training is an advantage.

N150,000 / Month
