Job title: Assistant Coach - Women's Basketball
About the Role The Assistant Coach supports coaching, recruiting, counseling, conditioning, and evaluating for the team during transition of vacant coaching positions and assists with administrative tasks within the program.
What You'll Do
- Oversee and manage program personnel; interview applicants and make hiring recommendations; train and orient new employees; monitor performance; monitor and approve employee leave; ensure compliance with university policies; receive and address employee complaints; assign corrective action; investigate grievances; recommend disciplinary action as warranted.
- Assume responsibility for the administrative operations of the program; coordinate team travel, game-day operations, practice security, field setup, and video exchange; liaison to campus departments and pro scouts; assist in youth camp management; evaluate equipment and facility needs.
- Implement coaching and teaching methods to develop student-athletes; assist in recruiting; arrange meals and entertainment, transportation, tours; prepare and review recruiting documentation.
- Assist with team marketing and promotional activities; attend events; prepare promotional materials; deliver speeches or presentations; coordinate summer jobs program and community outreach.
- Meet safety requirements; adhere to NCAA, conference, and university rules; videotape practices, games, and strength sessions as directed; manage equipment inventory; drive vans as required; train new hires; perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree; at least one year of coaching experience and/or playing basketball; valid driver's license; ability to work flexible hours and travel extensively.
- Certifications/Training: CPR/AED/First Aid; annual NCAA Certification to Recruit.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of NCAA rules and university policies; office practices; organization and communication skills; data collection and record management; ability to work independently and in teams; ability to train others; strong interpersonal skills.
- Preferred Qualifications: Collegiate basketball coaching experience; collegiate playing experience in Division I women's basketball; experience coordinating operations for a collegiate sports team.
- Physical Requirements: Light work; ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently; ability to stand/walk for extended periods.

- Collegiate coaching experience and Division I women's basketball playing experience (preferred).
