Job title: Assistant Athletic Trainer
About the Role The Assistant Athletic Trainer supports Wayland Baptist University's intercollegiate athletics sports medicine program and helps oversee sports medicine operations across nineteen intercollegiate sports. Teaching in the School of Education, Exercise & Sport Science may be required.
What You'll Do
- Assist with the supervision and administration of all sports medicine operations for nineteen intercollegiate sports
- Assist with the prevention, evaluation and treatment of athletic injuries and illnesses
- Provide counseling and education to student athletes
- Assist with the coordination and scheduling of medical coverage for home and away competitions
- Assist with the supervision, education and recruitment of student athletic trainers
- Record keeping and documentation
- Work with doctors and other allied health professionals to deliver care to student athletes

What We're Looking For
- Education: Master's Degree with experience will be given first priority; Must hold Texas Athletic Trainer License (LAT)
- First Aid, CPR and AED certification required
- One to three years of progressive experience preferred
- College level experience is preferred
- A commitment to a Christian lifestyle; The ability to serve student athletes from a Christian perspective is essential
- Individuals who apply should have proven integrity, leadership skills, and the ability to motivate students to be successful academically and athletically
- Willingness to travel; valid driver's license; satisfactory driving record
Nice to Have
- NATABOC (ATC) certification is preferred
