The Loyola University Chicago Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing (Loyola Nursing) invites applications from nurse researchers for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor.
Loyola Nursing seeks scholars whose research advances nursing science and improves health for individuals, families, communities, or populations. We welcome programs of research that address health equity, strengthen health care delivery and systems, or deepen understanding of health and illness.
Guided by the missions, values, and strategic priorities of Loyola University Chicago and Loyola Nursing, the successful candidate will:
- Develop and sustain an independent program of research, disseminate findings in peer-reviewed publications, and pursue external funding.
- Teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students according to their expertise and program needs, including emerging nurse scientists.
- Use evidence-informed, inclusive, and learner-centered teaching and assessment practices.
- Collaborate with faculty and academic leaders to plan, improve, and evaluate courses and curricula.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners across Loyola and beyond.
- Contribute service to the School, University, the community, and nursing profession.
- Advance School and University priorities related to belonging and inclusive excellence.

A record of peer-reviewed research publications appropriate to career stage.

Experience seeking extramural research funding or demonstrated potential to secure it.

Teaching or mentorship experience or demonstrated potential to teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students

Rank-specific considerations
-
For appointment at the Assistant Professor rank, postdoctoral research training or equivalent experience advancing an independent program of research is preferred.

Candidates for appointments at the Associate Professor or Professor rank must demonstrate a substantial, nationally recognized record of research, publication, teaching, and service consistent with Loyola University Chicago’s criteria for appointment with tenure at the proposed rank.

Salary
This salary range is for a nine-month academic appointment. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree; training; field or discipline; budget availability; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
