About the Role The Assistant / Associate Athletic Director (NIL Strategy & AI Analytics) will lead UC Athletics' NIL program, leveraging AI and predictive analytics to maximize student-athlete market value while complying with NCAA and university policies. The role oversees the NIL lifecycle and reports to senior athletic administration.
What You'll Do
- Assist with all aspects of NIL administration and operation, including NIL contracts, licensing, payments, and compliance.
- Manage student-athlete relationships and use spreadsheets and software platforms to ensure timely payments and budget adherence.
- Communicate with agents and negotiate favorable terms, usage rights, and exclusivity clauses.
- Build predictive analytics and valuation models to project market value and ROI; analyze audience demographics for brand alignment opportunities.
- Forecast ROI and analyze past ROI; implement AI tools to automate talent discovery and brand matching; track social media trend velocity.
- Use AI-driven sentiment analysis to protect athlete and institutional reputation; ensure NIL fulfillment and compliance with NCAA/state laws and institutional policies; manage disclosure platforms to track transactions.
- Support leadership in policy development, staff training, funding generation, and, if applicable, sport supervision and administrative guidance.
- Supervise staff as needed and perform related duties based on departmental needs.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree required for Asst AD; 9 years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training may substitute for education; 5 years of experience in athletic administration.
- For Assoc AD: Bachelor's Degree; 7 years of experience in athletic administration.
- Strong knowledge of NIL, contracts, compliance, analytics; proficiency with data visualization tools and AI-driven marketing software.
- Ability to lead, supervise, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Degree in Sports Management, Data Science, Business, or Law; Master’s or JD.
- Experience in sports agency, collegiate NIL management, sports marketing.
- Proficiency with data visualization tools and AI-driven marketing software.
