About the Role

The American Girl NYC store is seeking a Part-Time Asset Protection Associate to maintain a safe environment for customers and employees and safeguard company assets. The role requires multi-tasking, strong communication, and a professional yet compassionate approach.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain a safe environment for customers, guests, and store employees by monitoring and correcting safety concerns and guiding customer traffic when needed.
  • Provide external and internal customer service in a positive, friendly, and professional manner; diffuse escalated situations.
  • Prevent loss through surveillance; conduct employee package checks and trash checks; stay knowledgeable of civil and criminal laws pertaining to retail security.
  • Serve as a safety mentor for store employees; lead by example.

What We're Looking For

  • One to two years of loss prevention, law enforcement, criminal justice, military or security experience preferred.
  • State-specific license required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a broad and diverse workforce and customer base, including work with children, preferred.
  • Availability to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Nice to Have

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) is preferred.
  • Experience working in a premium retail environment or with a high-service brand.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour.
