Job Description

  • The Asset Management Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the effective management, control, maintenance, utilization, and reporting of an organization's physical assets.
  • The role ensures that assets are properly recorded, safeguarded, maintained, efficiently utilized, and disposed of in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and best industry practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the day-to-day management and control of company assets.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date asset registers and records.

  • Monitor asset acquisition, allocation, transfer, movement, maintenance, and disposal.

  • Coordinate periodic physical verification and reconciliation of assets against asset records.

  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, losses, damages, or unauthorized movement of assets.

  • Ensure assets are properly tagged, identified, and assigned to responsible users or locations.

  • Monitor asset utilization and recommend measures to improve efficiency and reduce unnecessary costs.

  • Develop and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for equipment and other operational assets.

  • Liaise with procurement, finance, operations, facilities, IT, and other departments on asset-related matters.

  • Ensure compliance with company asset management policies, procedures, and internal controls.

  • Prepare periodic asset management reports, including asset movements, utilization, maintenance, losses, and disposals.

  • Supervise asset audits and support internal and external audit activities.

  • Review asset condition and recommend repair, replacement, refurbishment, or disposal where necessary.

  • Maintain appropriate documentation for asset acquisitions, transfers, disposals, and write-offs.

  • Monitor contractors and service providers responsible for asset maintenance or related services.

  • Ensure proper custody and security of company assets.

  • Train and supervise staff involved in asset management activities.

  • Identify risks associated with asset management and implement appropriate controls.

  • Support budgeting and forecasting for asset acquisition, maintenance, replacement, and disposal.

  • Ensure obsolete, damaged, or surplus assets are processed in accordance with approved procedures.

  • Promote continuous improvement in asset management processes and systems.

  • Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or HND in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Asset Management, or a related discipline.

  • 4 – 6 years of relevant experience in asset management, facilities, maintenance, inventory, logistics, or related field.

  • Good knowledge of asset control, inventory management, reconciliation, and audit processes.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and asset management/ERP systems.

  • Professional certification in Asset Management, Supply Chain, Accounting, Facilities Management, or related fields is an advantage.
