As an Area Manager, you’ll lead a team within one of Walmart’s distribution centers, helping move products efficiently and safely to stores and customers. This role is a strong fit for leaders who enjoy fast-paced operations, developing people, solving problems in real time, and owning results.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of associates in a high-volume distribution environment
- Own daily operational performance, including safety, quality, productivity, staffing, and service goals
- Use data and floor-level observations to identify issues, remove barriers, and improve how work gets done
- Plan labor, prioritize workload, and adjust quickly as business needs shift
- Partner with other leaders across Operations, People, Safety, Transportation, and Maintenance
- Build an inclusive, accountable team culture where associates can grow and succeed
- Support continuous-improvement initiatives that make the operation safer, simpler, and more efficient
What we are looking for
- Experience leading teams in operations, logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, military, retail, or another fast-paced environment
- Strong decision-making, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Comfort managing competing priorities, tracking performance, and delivering against goals
- A people-first leadership style with a focus on coaching and developing others
- Ability to work in a distribution-center environment and support varying shifts, including nights, weekends, or holidays as business needs require
