About this role

About the Role Stord is looking for an Area Manager II with strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to lead others through effective decision-making and a sense of accountability. This individual will support the execution of warehouse processes and procedures, driving operational efficiency across their area of responsibility. Must be flexible with the ability to work overtime, including evenings and weekends, as needed. Utilizes an Order Management System and various types of material handling equipment. Shift: 2pm-10:30pm.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and develop a team of warehouse associates and operations leads to hit daily goals.
  • Partner with support staff (HR, Safety, Customer Service, other Ops Leaders) to drive results.
  • Address operational and personnel issues affecting the functional area.
  • Implement process improvements and workload efficiency measures.
  • Utilize workload planning tools and resources to complete scheduled workloads and ensure orders are fulfilled to standard.
  • Investigate discrepancies and variances.
  • Perform to quality standards across multiple functions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum of two to four years’ experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) / inventory systems in a high-volume facility.
  • Previous leadership experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience.
  • Basic clerical and data entry skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to drive tasks to completion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to interact effectively with all levels of management and support teams.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Attention to details with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to build solid working relationships and work under stress with high workloads and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in relevant material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts) and ability to convey information clearly.
  • Ability to work in a distribution center environment with varying heights, temperatures, and moderate/noise levels.
  • Occasional non-standard work hours or overtime as needed.

Nice to Have

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Experience with process improvements (Lean Six Sigma and/or Kaizen).
