About this role
Afrihood Development Company Limited
About this role
Bring your entrepreneurial drive and local relationships to a business built around your community’s property and infrastructure needs. Afrihood provides its brand, platform, operating standards and coordinated professional support. You lead the Area’s business and team, from identifying viable opportunities and winning customers to delivering projects and supporting ongoing operations. Exercise initiative within your approved mandate, uphold the Afrihood Standard and protect the people and resources entrusted to you.
What you will deliver
- A growing local development business with a capable team and viable, demand-led projects.
- Reliable delivery against agreed budgets, programmes, quality and safety standards.
- Trusted customer relationships, accurate commitments and an orderly purchase-to-handover experience.
- Responsible use of funds, materials and assets, with risks and discrepancies addressed promptly.
Responsibilities
- Set and deliver the Area business plan, including budgets, targets and a capable local team; recruit within your mandate and manage performance.
- Build landowner and partner relationships, assess local demand and develop acquisition, redevelopment and joint-development opportunities.
- Coordinate feasibility, title work, design, approvals, funding and procurement with the responsible professionals.
- Lead delivery through construction, infrastructure, completion and handover to the Afrihood Standard; follow up safety, quality, defects and corrective work to resolution.
- Grow the customer pipeline and manage marketing, sales and broker relationships using accurate information and authorised commercial terms.
- Create and present experience-led video content at least three times a week, sharing the Area’s development journey, local real estate and infrastructure needs and opportunities, and how the team is addressing them. Build interest and trust through accurate, active social media engagement; more frequent participation is encouraged.
- Oversee customer commitments, allocations, collection follow-up, complaints and aftercare, including the transition to occupancy and facilities services.
- Control costs and commitments within delegated limits; verify procurement, deliveries, materials and work claimed with finance and technical colleagues. Investigate discrepancies and suspected fraud.
- Maintain constructive community and authority relationships, address grievances and disclose conflicts of interest.
- Keep reliable business and project records in the app, report performance and risks to the Area’s Board, and ensure continuity and an orderly handover of responsibilities.
Essential requirements
- Describe a business, venture or initiative where you developed a market, won customers or grew revenue. Relevant property sales are useful, but examples from other sectors are welcome. Explain what you personally did, the period, approximate scale and results. Do not name private customers.
- Confirm that you currently reside within the Area you selected. What do you know about its buyers, neighbourhoods, pricing and development opportunities? Explain how your local knowledge would inform your priorities.
- Describe the local relationships you could responsibly develop for Afrihood, including customers, brokers, landowners, professionals, businesses and communities. Explain their relevance without disclosing private contact lists.
- Describe a business, team or initiative you built or led, including a small venture or community enterprise. How did you bring people together, organise limited resources and handle setbacks, underperformance or competing priorities? Explain your responsibility and give results that can be checked. A previous executive title is not required.
- Creating and presenting experience-led video content is a core requirement of the Area CEO role. You must publish at least three times a week, sharing your Area’s development journey, local real estate and infrastructure needs and opportunities, and how you are addressing them—to build interest and trust. More frequent, active engagement is encouraged. Are you willing and able to sustain this commitment? Share examples of relevant content you have created, if available.
- Outline your priorities for the first 30 days in the selected Area: team, project readiness, resources, customers and local opportunities. For a relaunch, explain how you would establish the existing position before setting commitments. A high-level plan is sufficient.
- Describe a project or complex operation you coordinated from planning to a measurable result. Explain how you managed specialists, deadlines, costs, quality and setbacks, and distinguish your contribution from work certified or approved by others.
- A supplier requests urgent payment, but the delivery record does not match the invoice and the project is behind schedule. How would you establish the facts, protect the project, involve the right people and keep delivery moving without bypassing controls?
- When could you start, what other work commitments would remain and how would you maintain the presence needed to lead the selected Area?
- Declare any interests or relationships that could affect this role, including landowners, competing businesses, contractors or existing Afrihood participants. State “None” if there are none.
- Upload your CV or a concise professional profile showing your relevant work and responsibilities. You may redact private client information; do not upload an identity document here.
Desirable experience
- Describe a land, redevelopment or joint-development opportunity you helped originate. Explain your contribution, the checks involved and the outcome; supporting a transaction is relevant even if you did not develop it yourself.
- Your written appointment defines the Area you lead, your authority and your reporting responsibilities.
- Do not receive customer money personally or direct it to an unauthorised account.
- Do not commit the company, borrow, acquire land or start development without the required authority and project clearance.
- Respect independent professional certification, safety and legal controls. You cannot approve your own payments or rewards.
- More than one person may apply for an Area. Applying does not reserve it or authorise you to act for Afrihood.
- You may begin with a defined Area CEO-designate mandate before full appointment. Your offer will explain the work, terms and authority for that stage.
