About the Role Materials Research Furnaces, LLC is seeking a technically skilled individual to support the operation, installation, and customer deployment of advanced arc-melt furnace systems (TA-200/SA-200). This role focuses on hands-on setup, testing, and integration of three-arc configurations to achieve homogeneous melts in university and R&D environments. What You'll Do
- Set up and operate Arc Melt Furnaces TA-200/SA-200 with three stingers to achieve larger, more homogeneous melts.
- Configure and manage vacuum chamber, inert gas system, and cooling water components integrated into turnkey systems.
- Customize hearth cavities and work with adaptable melt shapes as specified at order.
- Collaborate with research teams in universities or laboratories to support experimentation and results.
- Maintain safety and high-temperature operation standards; perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting. What We're Looking For
- Experience with high-temperature furnaces, vacuum systems, and inert gas handling.
- Familiarity with copper hearth plates, tungsten electrodes, and power supply considerations (e.g., 350A @ 60% duty cycle).
- Ability to support turnkey system installation and on-site commissioning.
- Strong troubleshooting, technical communication, and customer-facing skills. Nice to Have
- Knowledge of optional crystal pulling feature with a variable-speed servo drive and linear actuator.
- Experience with custom furnace configurations and melt-shape customization.
