About the Role
Seeking a technical specialist to install, operate, and maintain the Arc Melt Furnace ABJ-900, our largest system for sustained use above 3500°C. This role focuses on safety interlocks, water cooling, inert gas and vacuum systems, and a configurable 9.0 inch diameter hearth. You'll support loading/unloading, cleaning, maintenance, and coordination with customers on order-specific designs. What You'll Do

Install, commission, and troubleshoot the Arc Melt Furnace ABJ-900 and its heavy-duty power supply (500 Amp @ 80% Duty Cycle, 22 kVA) as well as associated water cooling, inert gas, and vacuum systems.

Maintain and inspect the 9.0 inch diameter copper hearth plate, copper stinger with tungsten electrode, and related components (bell jar, viewport, halogen light).

Configure melting cavities and coordinate custom hearth designs at order time.

Ensure safe operation with interlocks, pressure relief, vacuum levels (rough/high vacuum), and high-temperature operation above 3500°C.

Review drawings and specifications (Options, Applications, Drawings) and ensure proper installation, loading/unloading, cleaning, and maintenance access.

Work with the high vacuum turbo pumping system and other accessories; document procedures and service records.

Provide customer-facing support for installation and commissioning, and assist with safety and compliance checks. What We're Looking For

Technical background in high-temperature furnaces, vacuum systems, inert gas handling, and electrical power supplies (e.g., 500 Amp @ 80% Duty Cycle, 22 kVA).

Experience with arc melting processes or metal melting equipment is a plus.

Mechanical/electrical aptitude with ability to read drawings and specifications.

Problem-solving skills and strong attention to safety interlocks and interlocks.

Excellent communication and ability to work with customers and cross-functional teams. Nice to Have

Experience with 3500°C operation, tungsten electrodes, copper stinger, and copper hearth plates.

Familiarity with large bell jar top-loading configurations and vacuum systems.

Knowledge of high vacuum turbo pumping systems and inert gas relief valves.
