Job title: APRN/PA-C - Cardiology
About the Role The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant provides specialty and preventive cardiac health care services to an adult population. In collaboration with the attending physician, they provide all aspects of acute care including patient admissions, consults, follow-up care and discharges, and coordinate specialty care and discharge management for acute care patients. They also provide care to the same population in the office setting.
What You'll Do
- Obtain patient health history and perform physical examination.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Diagnose acute and chronic medical problems.
- Prescribe and manage medications.
- Provide preventive care, secondary prevention and patient education according to practice standard.
- Meet productivity standard of the practice/department.
- Document care provided in the medical record.
- Perform, interpret and make appropriate changes to cardiac devices (Pacemakers, ICDs, Loop recorders).
- Safely perform and interpret stress tests, communicate findings and arrange appropriate follow-up.
- Maintain professional development.
What We're Looking For
- Education: For Nurse Practitioners: Completion of Master's degree in Advanced Practice Nursing or 4 years of formal training or education beyond high school (e.g. Bachelor's Degree). For Physician Assistants: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Certification Program is required.
- Certification, Registration & Licensure: ACLS certification required. Licensure: New Hampshire license as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and DEA license for APRN; New Hampshire license as Physician Assistant; DEA license for both APRN and PAs.
- Experience: At least one year of cardiology provider experience.
