About the Role BC Hydro offers a range of apprenticeship, technologist trainee, and engineer-in-training opportunities designed to give students and recent graduates hands-on experience and training to succeed in their chosen field.
What You'll Do
- Participate in on-the-job and classroom training through Apprenticeships, gaining skills across various areas; upon completion, be ready to work in many areas.
- For Pre-Apprentice PLT roles, explore the power line technician trade for one year prior to entering an apprenticeship.
- For Engineers-in-Training, gain valuable work experience to support achieving your Professional Engineering Designation.
- For Co-op Educational Learning, gain practical, hands-on experience in electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering fields.
- For Tour Guides, educate visitors about hydroelectricity, electrical safety, and energy conservation at BC Hydro Visitor Centres across the province.
What We're Looking For
- Students or recent graduates seeking hands-on training in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering disciplines or power line trades.
- Interest in apprenticeships, engineer-in-training, co-op programs, or visitor centre roles.
- Willingness to learn and participate in on-the-job and classroom training; strong communication and teamwork skills.
