Our Ideal Apprentice
You do not need to arrive as an experienced chef. What matters most is that you bring enthusiasm, commitment and a willingness to learn. We will support you in developing the practical skills, knowledge and confidence needed to build your career within hospitality, whilst supporting you with your NVQ level 2 training on site.
No previous professional kitchen experience is essential. We are looking for someone who:
- Has a genuine interest in food and developing a career as a chef.
- Is enthusiastic, reliable and willing to learn.
- Has a positive attitude and enjoys working as part of a team.
- Can follow instructions and has good attention to detail.
- Is comfortable working in a busy kitchen environment.
- Understands the importance of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety.
- Is willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required by the business.
- Is committed to completing the required apprenticeship training and qualification.
During your apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to develop skills in:
- Food preparation and professional cookery.
- Knife skills and preparation techniques.
- Cooking methods and presentation.
- Food hygiene and allergen awareness.
- Kitchen health and safety.
- Stock rotation and reducing food waste.
- Working efficiently during busy service periods.
- Communication and teamwork within a professional kitchen.
- Planning and organising your workload.
