Applied AI / Prompt Engineer

Technology Partners is seeking an experienced Applied AI / Prompt Engineer to help build AI-powered coaching and simulation applications.

We are looking for a hands-on AI practitioner who have built real-world applications using large language models, not simply experimented with them.

The primary focus of this role is designing sophisticated prompt and RAG workflows and developing AI personas and multi-agent interactions that create realistic, dynamic training experiences.

What You'll Work On

• Design, develop, test, and optimize prompts, RAG frameworks, and AI workflows used in coaching and simulation applications.
• Build multiple AI personas and multi-agent interactions that behave differently, respond dynamically, and work together to create realistic training scenarios.
• Analyze AI outputs and improve response quality, reasoning, consistency, and user experience.
• Design approaches for evaluating the quality and effectiveness of AI-generated interactions.
• Work with LLM platforms and orchestration frameworks to build production-ready AI solutions.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to move AI capabilities from experimentation into production.
• Help establish practical standards around prompt management, evaluation, reliability, and responsible AI.

What We're Looking For

We are especially interested in candidates who can demonstrate hands-on experience with:

• Building production applications using LLMs, prompt engineering, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
• Designing and implementing AI personas, agents, or multi-agent systems rather than simply consuming an LLM API.
• Building AI workflows where different prompts, context, retrieved information, personas, or agents influence the resulting interaction.
• Evaluating and improving LLM outputs based on measurable results and application requirements.
• Python and applied AI development.
• LLM platforms such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthrop ic, Ollama, or comparable technologies.
• AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, CrewAI, or similar tools.

Experience building AI applications for training, coaching, simulation, conversational AI, or other interactive experiences is especially relevant.

We are open to candidates at different levels of seniority. What matters most is substantive, hands-on experience designing and building these types of AI systems and the ability to clearly explain the solutions you personally developed. This is a REMOTE 12-month contract with the right to hire role with our client based in St. Louis.

Pay: $77.00–$110.00/hour
