Job title: Applications Engineer/Technician for Composite Materials

The role supports the Customer Engineering team by translating customer challenges into technical solutions and working with customers and internal experts to develop tailored innovations.
What You'll Do
- Execute plans for development and qualification of new composite materials and manufacturing technologies aligned to market and customer needs
- Support development activities coupling material, process, and part design
- Perform characterization and producibility studies of new composite material and process development
- Manage multiple routine and non-routine tasks with effective time management
- Communicate with internal and external customers on execution and progress of qualification test plans on composites, adhesives, primers, and coatings
- Provide expertise to troubleshoot material behavior
- Operate and maintain lab equipment required to execute job functions
- Support production testing as required
- Champion and promote all safety procedures within Syensqo and collaborating sites; encourage safety actions of others
- Work collaboratively to support all functions, customers, and suppliers
What We're Looking For
- Associate's degree in a relevant discipline; Bachelor's degree in a STEM field preferred
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience with composite materials and processing technologies
- Experience in composite technologies: hand layup laminate manufacturing, adhesive bonding, prepreg, out-of-autoclave manufacturing, resin infusion, thermoplastics, among others
- Understanding of lab procedures from customer specifications, technical journals and textbooks; able to adapt procedures to project requirements
Compensation & Benefits
- U.S. base salary range: $60,000 to $79,000 per year; total compensation includes bonus/incentives
