About this role
Job title: Applications Engineer - Front Loading Multi-Application Laboratory Furnace
About the Role We are seeking an Applications Engineer to support the deployment and customization of our front-loading Multi-Application Laboratory Furnace for high-temperature research. This role translates product capabilities into customer solutions and helps configure and integrate optional kits and configurations to enable flexible R&D workflows.
What You'll Do
- Develop and communicate technical solutions based on the furnace's capabilities: up to 2000 °C in inert gas, hydrogen, or vacuum, and up to 2800 °C with the optional heater shell.
- Advise on configurations and options, including crystal growing kit, mini hot press kit, and quench kit, and swap kits with minimal effort.
- Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and customers to define requirements and implement applications for small-sample processing at high temperatures.
- Interpret and create application drawings and specifications as needed, and assist with installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Support material experiments by selecting hot zone configurations (4″ diameter x 8″ high; metallic, graphite, or ceramic) and ensuring performance targets such as temperature uniformity.
What We're Looking For
- Experience with high-temperature furnace systems or lab-scale materials processing.
- Familiarity with inert gas, hydrogen, or vacuum environments.
- Ability to translate customer requirements into actionable configurations and provide clear documentation.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teams.
- Mechanical or materials engineering background or equivalent practical experience.
- Aptitude for reading and utilizing engineering drawings and specifications.
Nice to Have
- Experience with crystal growing kits, hot press kits, and quench kits.
- Familiarity with front-loading furnace designs and modular configurations.
