Job title: Applications Engineer – Front Loading Furnaces
About the Role Join Materials Research Furnaces, LLC as an Applications Engineer focused on the Model F front-loading furnace line (operational up to 3000°C). You’ll help customers select configurations (cylindrical or rectangular chambers) and tailor options such as vacuum and gas systems, hot zones, and multi-model interchangeability (F-4, F-6, F-14, F-20, F-26).
What You'll Do
- Provide technical guidance on furnace configurations and options for front-loading systems across R&D and production environments (Model F family).
- Collaborate with sales and engineering to develop applications, quotations, and process plans for high-temperature heat treatment.
- Support installation, commissioning, and operator training; ensure safe operation with interlocked subsystems.
- Prepare technical documentation, drawings, and process specifications; assist in testing and characterization.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience with high-temperature furnaces, vacuum or gas delivery systems, and materials such as ceramic, molybdenum, tantalum, tungsten, or graphite.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer-facing skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with batch processing, lab-scale to production-scale heat treatment.
- Familiarity with furnace safety interlocks and process automation.
